Pornhub released its Year in Review this week, providing some surprising statistics about what people have been searching for on the site. For instance, searches for „Big Ass” increased 314% while those for „bisexual male” rose 288%. Internationally, searches for „transgender” increased 75 percent. Pornhub’s „popular with women” category also experienced an impressive 41 percent growth – suggesting female users are driving some of these terms’ growth on the platform.
3. Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VII is one of the world’s most beloved video games. With its groundbreaking CG movie scenes, pre-rendered backgrounds, and 3D battle stages that have never been seen before in the series – it continues to enthrall players worldwide today.
The game takes place in a post-modern steampunk science fiction world where robots and bio-engineered mutants coexist alongside human beings. Cloud Strife, an eco-terrorist group called AVALANCHE, has been hired by them to fight Shinra Electric Power Company which controls Mako Energy – Mako Earth’s sole source of energy.
He initially strives for personal gain, yet soon realizes his actions have an immense effect on the entire world. Ultimately, he joins rebel group AVALANCHE and childhood friend Tifa Lockhart in their mission to defeat Shinra Electric Power Company and save Earth.
Along the way, he meets many interesting characters, such as Vincent Valentine – a former Turk who has become an expert at transmuting into monstrous forms. Although able to speak little, Vincent gives valuable advice when it comes to combat and helping his team come out victorious.
Sephiroth, an ancient, powerful character who joins the party temporarily during a single sequence, also joins them. He holds a secret that only he can reveal and wields an enormous sword that could only be wielded by Shinra; although he was said to have vanished years ago, he reappears in flashback sequences to testify of loyalty towards Shinra.
Final Fantasy VII incorporates a wide range of references from mythology and folklore, to religion and popular culture. Additionally, it incorporates elements from science fiction such as space flight and robotics.
4. Tifa Lockhart
Tifa Lockhart is one of the beloved and iconic characters from the Final Fantasy series. She possesses formidable combat skills, a faithful guidebook and an innate motherly instinct towards her fellow soldiers.
Tifa is another character with a close bond to Cloud Strife, serving as his childhood friend and living in Nibelheim alongside him.
However, their relationship did not truly blossom until later in Final Fantasy 7. After Cloud’s injury on a mountain climb, she felt him turn cold and distant towards her. Yet she still has feelings for him and cannot forget his presence in her life.
One of my favourite aspects of Tifa and her development in Final Fantasy VII Remake is her relationship with Sven. It feels like a real-life connection, and she doesn’t hesitate to express her affections for someone else.
She has an empathic nature and can sense when someone needs support or assistance. Though she may not always share her own emotions, she will listen intently when others need to vent.
She’s a lovely character, and I admire how she doesn’t take anything personally yet still cares deeply about those around her. This makes her an excellent role model for younger players.
5. Anime
Anime has become a worldwide phenomenon, with its distinct style of animation and focus on character development. Unlike cartoons which usually revolve around humorous concepts or are directed at children, anime shows are more intricate with epic storylines that span multiple episodes.
The term 'anime’ is a generic term for animated movies and series produced in Japan that employ signature Japanese-style animation techniques like vibrant colors, dramatic panning, and characteristic facial expressions. Outside Japan however, it has come to be used for any animation film or show that incorporates these techniques.
In the West, anime tends to be seen as an adult-oriented form of entertainment. On the contrary, in Japan anime has become widely accepted and basic entertainment suitable for all ages.
Due to this distinction, anime has come to encompass a wide range of genres such as comedy and romance, action/science fiction, historical fiction and horror. Additionally, some animated films are based on classic literature like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs – an example that continues to inspire today’s filmmakers.
Subgenres of anime vary, from teenage romance and high school antics to hyper-specific sci-fi stories featuring giant robots fighting kaiju. There’s also plenty of „ecchi,” or naughty anime which tends to be quite explicit.
American audiences may enjoy anime, but it isn’t for the timid. Many titles contain scenes that may seem racy to Western eyes and distributors are usually careful to label their content according to strict MPAA or TV Parenting Guidelines ratings.
Anime is an excellent way for kids to discover a world of storytelling they won’t find elsewhere. However, it’s essential to remember that not all anime is created equal – some, such as fanservice shows, feature gratuitous titillation and nudity. If you’re concerned about what your child may be watching, check the show’s rating and look for specific terminology like „fanservice cut.”
